Update on Cruise and Stay Over arrivals

1-NEW CRUISE SEASON AND CRUISE TOURISM (NEW CALLS)

  • - Pullmantur will be calling to Bonaire from the 22nd September 2015 with a   weekly call (Tuesday) until the 31st May 2016 (CUR-BON-AUA-at sea-Colon- Cartagena-at sea-CUR)
  • - Pullmantur will also showcase Bonaire to Latin American passengers

 

Cruise Statistics

  • - The upcoming 2014-2015 cruise season will welcome around 190,000 pax, 12% more arrivals than last cruise season/ 20,000 more passengers.
  • - The 2015 Calendar year will register approximately 250,000 pax which is a record for Bonaire
  • - End of 2015 Norwegian Cruise Lines will also have calls to Bonaire
  • - Carnival will be calling to Bonaire for the 1st Time ever with 10 calls in the entire 2015
  • - With Pullmantur starting in September 2015 the Cruise low season will only be 4 months and not 6 months.

 

2 – NEW CRUISE SEASON PREPARATION AND SET UP

  • - The preparation for the new cruise season is in full swing, TCB will be making all the new badges for TAB and BEA members, new courses have been done for new comers and some work is done in town to present Kralendijk in the best possible way.
  • - The center of town will be closed as usual: BC parking lot, ex- City café and by Capriccio restaurant if South Pier is in use. No changes to the usual set up.

3 – TOTAL ARRIVALS TILL SEPTEMBER 2014

  • - Total arrivals for 2014 calendar year till September is  121,620
  • - USA market saw a 10.55% growth compared to 2013  (YTD> JAN – SEP)
  • - Europe also saw a positive growth with 13.50% compared with 2013 (YTD> JAN-SEP)
  • - Delta will continue with its 2nd flight on Saturday in 2015
  • - -2.90% is influenced by the regional market and the difference in  capacity compared to 2013
