Tourism Corporation Bonaire announces the start of the cruise season


Tourism Corporation Bonaire (TCB) together with all other companies affiliated with the cruise operations are ready for the cruise season starting September 22nd, 2015.

Total for 2015 is about 247,000 cruise passengers. Bonaire is estimating approximately 248,000 for 2016 of which Carnival and Royal Caribbean will be having summer calls the coming cruise season. This will be a busy Cruise season and downtown Kralendijk will be crowded. Drivers will need to observe the closed off traffic areas.

In order to provide better service for the Cruise passengers, downtown area will again be closed off for vehicles whenever there are more than 1200 passengers per day. The closed off areas will continue to be the intersection at the Ex-City Café Kaya Islariba and the BC parking area. When there are two Cruise Ships in port, the intersection of Kaya C.E.B. Hellmund and Kaya Gilberto F. Croes will also be closed for traffic.

Employees of all the companies that adhere to the TCB Cruise operating standards will be wearing a badge which allows them to operate within the City Center boundaries during the Cruise Season.
