Pullmantur Cruises will visit Bonaire starting September 2015

TCB director Ethsel Pieternella can officially announce that for the first time ever, Pullmantur Cruises will call on Bonaire starting September 2015. Bonaire will receive 37 extra calls and 100,000 extra cruise passengers.

TCB is projecting a total of more than 250,000 cruise passenger arrivals for the 2015 calendar year. This is in line with the TCB 12 Month High Season strategy. “With the support of OLB, we are creating jobs and business opportunities for the local people of Bonaire and adding 17.5 million US Dollars to the Bonaire economy” according to Mr. Pieternella.

Pullmantur will also make it possible for local Bonaireans and international passengers to embark and disembark in Bonaire. It will be possible to start and to end your cruise vacation in Bonaire.

For the calendar year 2016 more than 300.000 cruise passengers are expected. Bonaire is rapidly converting into a 12 month cruise destination.

These are the results of negotiations by the Bonaire delegation with select cruise lines conducted last week during the FCCA conference held in Sint Maarten. The negotiations were mainly focused on TCB’s plans for cruise ship calls in Bonaire during the low season which would make Bonaire a year-round port of call.

Destination Bonaire is moving forward and its popularity is growing fast. TCB’s 12 Month High Season strategy is resulting in a 15% growth of the stay-over tourist numbers. Bonaire continues to receive high scores in passenger satisfaction surveys.  These are yet other confirmations that Bonaire is definitely on the right track.

The Bonaire delegation that negotiated with the cruise companies in Sint Maarten was headed by TCB Director Ethsel Pieternella, Harbor Master Rob Sint Jago and TCB Cruise project manager Gabriele Tixi were also part of the delegation.
