Located on the beach of Plaza Beach Resort Bonaire, Coconut Crash Beach Bar launched a new menu featuring some fabulous small bites to go with new delicious crafted cocktails such as the Bonaire Breeze and the Malibu Paradise. Divi Flamingo Beach Resort & Casino is celebrating the opening their new pureocean Restaurant, which is the fourth installation of Divi Resorts’ “pure” brand dining concept. Pureocean will offer delectable cuisine in a beautiful, tropical setting, with menu items that highlight fresh local ingredients in modern presentations. The resort’s other restaurant, Chibi Chibi, is also undergoing renovations that will include new furniture, painting, lighting and a new menu. The Cadushy Distillery is offering a new specialty course coined “Diving into the Drink,” where visitors will learn how Cadushy liqueur is distilled. During this 2.5 hours workshop, visitors will learn about the distilling process, taste test the liqueur and be able to ask questions about the production of Cadushy liqueur. After completing the distillery workshop, guests will get certified by their Master Distiller, and receive a Cadushy certificate. Divi Flamingo Beach Resort & Casino is looking forward to the completion of a multi-million dollar upgrade by fall 2015. Several improvements have been done to the rooms, such as new furniture, lighting and appliances, as well as the resort’s exterior with new paved pathways and landscaping. Body and spirit can get refreshed at the Caribbean Wind & Sun with their mindfulness retreats offered by the owner, Ann Phelan, through July 25 to August 1, 2015. Mindfulness meditation is about becoming one with one’s own silence while immersed in a beautiful and quiet state of being. The focus will be on daily-guided meditations that include alternating periods of seated, walking and one-on-one sessions. The sessions will take place in various locations on the island. Yoga and nature hikes will also be incorporated into the retreats with an Ayurvedic lunch and independent dining. New yoga classes were introduced this spring at Plaza Beach Resort Bonaire.  The classes are free for all-inclusive guests, and are available at $15 per session to other guests who are interested in joining. RENDEZ-VOUS ON BONAIRE

Plaza Beach Resort Bonaire is organizing the Deepsea Challenge Week Bonaire from June 17th to 27th. It’s the perfect way to combine relaxation and fun. The Deepsea Challenge focuses on yoga, meditation workshops and diving sessions. To add some excitement to the event, Carlos Coste, an 11- time world record holder in freediving, will attempt to break the world record on June 21st. On August 1st, Plaza Beach Resort Bonaire will welcome Elske DeWall, a Dutch singer-songwriter from Veenwouden. Elske scored a record deal at Universal Music in 2007 with her first demo. She then released her first album, entitled “Balloon Over Paris.” Elske writes her songs on a guitar or a piano. Her songs are full of soul, with influences from roots, gospel, folk and modern country. Tickets are $20 (pre-sale), $30 (normal tickets) and VIP tickets are available at $100.
