BONAIRE IS SHOWCASED TO ELITE NEW YORK/NEW JERSEY TRAVEL AGENTS

To further reinforce the Bonaire message to the key travel agents in the New York metro area, Bonaire hosted 10 leading travel agents in the New York/New Jersey for a ‘Bonaire: Hidden Gem of the Caribbean” dinner on Wednesday, February 8, 2017. Highlighting its non-stop service from Newark on United Airlines, the diversity of upmarket accommodations, product, culture and cuisine, the dinner was held at Morso Restaurant, one of New York City’s top venues.

“The objective of hosting this event was to strengthen relationships with travel agents who have affluent clients in the NY metro area, are seeking a new destination to explore and the convenience of a non-stop flight from the tristate area,” commented Maurice Adriaens, Director of Tourism Corporation Bonaire (TCB). “Marketing United’s non-stop flight from Newark remains a priority for the year, as Bonaire expands its promotion of culture, cuisine and land based product. Hosting this exclusive event with elite agents reinforces our agent initiative launched with the presentations in August 2016, and continued through sales calls by Bonaire’s travel agent representative. The next event in our year-long travel agent program is our fam trip in May 2017.” he concluded.

The attendees had the opportunity to speak one-on-one with TCB-North America representatives Candice Kimmel, Marie Rosa and Stephanie Horbal and Diane Curtis, New Jersey Multi Line Representative for Bonaire.

The event kicked off with the playing of Bonaire’s Luxury Product video that highlights the island’s luxury accommodations, cuisine, culture, soft adventure and scuba diving. TCB-North America representative Candice Kimmel then opened the dinner with providing general facts about the island, and information on why Bonaire will be the next destination the travel agents’ clients will be asking about. Throughout the dinner, the agents all had the opportunity to ask the Bonaire representatives questions about the island, and we’re posting about the event on their social media channels.

“It was a lovely evening and really informative about Bonaire, commented Cindy Weasen, Luxury Travel Advisor for ProTravel International. “I will start recommending Bonaire to the right clientele for this destination.”

Attending agents were given a Bonaire tote bag that included the Bonaire Affair, Bonaire brochures and a wine stopper from Elements Bonaire.
