A great month full of promotion for Bonaire in Latin America

As an innovative strategy, TCB-Latin America participated in the PADI 2015 DIVE FESTIVAL, which took place in partnership with the Sao Paulo Boat Show. The Festival was held October 1 - 6, 2015, at the Transamerica Expo Center in Sao Paulo gathering the luxury nautical sector of Brazil. There were 200 boats exhibited and visited by more than 36.000 attendees. The Bonaire booth attracted high level consumers, who requested Bonaire information, which is known as the #1 dive destination in Brazil. The show attracted many dive enthusiasts, operators and dive professionals to the Bonaire booth, which is always busy with visitors. Bonaire is a dream destination for divers for its outstanding shore diving. The Bonaire delegation was comprised of Yasmin Perez, representative for TCB-Latin America, and representatives from Eden Beach Resort, Buddy Dive Resort and the Divi Flamingo Beach Resort & Casino. A representative from Insel Air was also on site to promote the new Manaus route to Bonaire. It was a perfect occasion during the event to launch and distribute our new Bonaire booklet 2015 in Portuguese and Spanish in its V edition.

This year Expo-Buceo Mexico took place on October 10th and 11th 2015. During the two days of the show, the Bonaire booth was visited by divers very interested to know about our hotel packages especially for the last quarter of the year which is the hurricane season in Mexico; this is a perfect period for Bonaire to attract dive groups from Mexico.

Mexico has a large dive population. Our unique sales proposition in this huge market is diving freedom 24/7 in Bonaire, #1 shore dive location in the world, a nature conscientious destination. Our Bonaire delegation comprised by Eden Beach Resort and SunRentals was greatly surprised with the potential of this emergent market Bonaire is exploring. Our hotels extended an invitation to a group of key dive centers and they are expected to visit Bonaire in November.

Expo-Buceo in its 18th edition gathered the diving industry. Dive centers, top dive destinations and well-known brands of dive equipment’s were present as expositors.

During this visit to the show, the Bonaire delegation learned a possibility to attract Mexicans towards Bonaire via Cuba. The route has an attractive rate and Insel Air is operating Havana/Curacao. Other connectivity’s also from Mexico to Bonaire is United weekly nonstop via Houston and Delta via Atlanta. For those without visa: Copa via Panama and Avianca via Colombia. During Expo-Buceo, a sales blitz organized by TCB Latin America, was conducted successfully to large dive centers and wholesalers.

Bonaire’s promotion continued with two days of productive meetings in Medellin and Bogota with dive centers and wholesalers. The agenda was attended by Hotel Eden Beach Resort and TCB Latin America that included a meeting in Bogota with Aviatur. Aviatur counts with its own wholesaler Cielos Abiertos and a dive department. Bonaire appears in Aviatur Caribbean destination portfolio. Aviatur requested packages of our hotels and to plan a fam trip in 2016 for its international advisers. The Colombian market is attended by Insel Air operating currently from Medellin, Barranquilla and future flights to Cali and Bucaramanga. The great news for the emergent market of Colombia is the elimination of the Shengen Visa expected to happen soon. This will open the Colombian market representing opportunities for the island of Bonaire to attract not only the dive niche, but also leisure.
