Elly Hazewinkel is the winner of the Flamingo Fun contest

The Flamingo Fun Bonaire contest that was launched for the Dutch market has closed on Tuesday April 27th, 2021. Last Friday, May 7th, Tourism Corporation Bonaire (TCB) selected Elly Hazewinkel from Loosduinen as the winner out of 55 qualifying video submissions in the #FlamingoFunBonaire social media sweepstakes. The selection process took place at random, using a game wheel app.

The #FlamingoFunBonaire contest, an initiative of TCB and Diamond Public Relations Europe took place from April 17-27 on the island’s Dutch-facing social media platforms ‘BonaireToerisme’ on Facebook and Instagram. The contest generated more than 500 new Dutch social media followers for Bonaire. In addition, the videos surrounding the #FlamingoFunBonaire contest reached more than 28,000 Dutch residents, with nearly 2,000 people engaging with the videos and Bonaire-related content.

Winner Elly Hazewinkel dressed up in a flamingo suit for the social media competition and moved "like a flamingo" across the landing of her apartment complex. For her effort, creativity, and participation, Elly is rewarded with two roundtrip Amsterdam to Bonaire flights, and six nights in a Penthouse at Resort Bonaire including daily breakfast. The prize is valid to redeem through April 30th, 2022. Click here to watch the clip.

Additionally, TCB created a TikTok account; ‘BonaireTourism’, which currently is one of the most popular platforms worldwide. TikTok is a social media app where you can share a variety of short videos from different genres like dancing, comedy, education and promotion. The goal of the TikTok account is to give Bonaire more visibility on other social media platforms.
