BONAIRE HOSTS ELITE NEW YORK/NEW JERSEY TOP TRAVEL AGENTS
In efforts to continue to increase awareness of Bonaire in one of the islands top US markets, Bonaire hosted 12 leading travel agents in the New York/New Jersey area for a Bonaire themed dinner earlier this month. Highlighting its non-stop service on United and Delta, the diversity of upmarket accommodations, cuisines, culture and activities, the dinner was held at Morso, one of New York City’s top restaurants.
“The event was an overwhelming success,” commented Maurice Adriaens, Director of Tourism Corporation Bonaire. “Agents represented the top agencies in New York, New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania, all in the Newark catchment area. They were truly interested and impressed by the island when we discussed Bonaire’s luxury product and diversity of activities available other than diving. It was unanimous that they were all looking for something ‘new’ or ‘undiscovered’ for their clients, and we delivered Bonaire to them.”
Staying current with the latest trends, Bonaire gave the travel agents a reason to be on their phones throughout the dinner, while still learning about Bonaire. The agents used their mobile devices to view the destination presentation and BonaireTourism’s YouTube channel that showcased videos of Bonaire’s luxury product, Bonaire Fall Festival, Vlogger Erik Conover’s Bonaire vlogs and more. The agents also used their devices to review the travel agent landing page.
“It was a great night,” said Tom Nero, AX-Adventure Travel. “I learned a wealth of information about Bonaire, and I’ve already posted on my Adventure Travel Facebook page about the island. I will be talking with each of my offices about promoting Bonaire on their Facebook pages, and will do an email blast to all of our clients. Thanks a million for the invite!”
The attendees also had the opportunity to speak one-on-one with TCB-North America representatives Candice Kimmel, Marie Rosa and Stephanie Horbal and Diane Curtis, the New Jersey Multi Line Representative for Bonaire.
“Thank you for a lovely evening in New York City,” commented Pattie Cooney, Concierge Travel. “The presentation was very educational, fun-filled, and the dinner was amazing. I truly enjoyed learning about this very special gem in the Caribbean. Bonaire has so much to offer, and I look forward to sharing this with my clients.”
Attending agents were given a Bonaire tote bag that included the Bonaire Affair, Bonaire brochures, postcards, destination flyer and purses from Phis-Phaktory. A wine stopper from Elements Bonaire was raffled off at the end of the night.
“Thank you for a wonderful evening and a chance to experience the highlights of Bonaire,” commented Joann Armine Costagliola, Paradise Travel Agency. “I’m looking forward to someday visiting, and of course sending clients.”
