Taxis can be found at the airport or in town along Kaya Grandi. You also can dial 717 8100 and they will be happy to pick you up at your resort.
All the drivers are quite helpful with lots of local information and are willing to share their knowledge with visitors. While the taxis are un-metered, the rates are posted. Be sure to ask and settle the price at the outset. The taxi drivers take great pride in their vehicles and you will find them in excellent condition and very clean.
Many folks who do not rent cars make arrangements with the taxis for tours and schedule pick ups at snorkel sites or for shopping sprees in town. It is not unusual for visitors to make friends with the taxi owners and keep in contact with them between visits.
