Bonaire was featured in the February 16, issue of The Toronto Sun! This is a direct result of writer Diane Slawych’s recent press visit to island this past February.
Entitled “A Day With Donkeys on Bonaire,” Diane highlights the donkeys/animal life in Bonaire and Bonaire’s Donkey Sanctuary. Throughout the article Diane quotes Marina Melis and her husband Ed Koopman for establishing the sanctuary in 1993 and their dedication to protecting the donkeys. She also includes information on the donkey souvenirs Marina sells to the cruise ship passengers in town and the admission and the hours the donkey sanctuary is open.
