The Marine Park Today

The Bonaire Marine Park starts at the high water mark and extends to a depth of  200 feet (60 meters) with covering 6,672 acres, and includes Klein Bonaire.  Everything within the park is protected.    

The Bonaire Marine Park manager and team of rangers, performs law enforcement, research & monitoring, education and advisory roles.     

Rules & Regulations:  A nature fee for all users applies.  Divers must receive an orientation prior to diving.  No spear fishing, gloves, anchoring or collecting of ANYTHING living or dead.  No contact with anything under the sea.  Turtles, eggs, and nests  are completely protected.  No diving in the marine reserves.  No kiteboarding in Lac.  Seperate rules for navigating crafts and tying to bouys apply.  Any building requires permits.  The Marine Park brochure or website lists these and all rules in detail.
