Kralendijk, Bonaire –The island of Bonaire isn’t just one of the most talked about destinations in the scuba diving industry, it’s also one of the most written and talked about in the diving media. Recent statistics released by DiverWire.com show that Bonaire is the top searched term on the site. DiverWire.com is an international news site dedicated to scuba diving consumers and dive travelers.
According to Editorial Director Scott D. Jones, “It’s natural that Bonaire would have such a high ranking on DiverWire.com. The island is near the top of nearly every scuba diver’s ‘wish list’ of dive destinations. Every week, there seems to be at least one news item involving a Bonaire trip, resort or dive center. Often, there’s more than one item.”
Jones said this regular flow of news makes a major difference in how a destination or company is ranked or “indexed” on a web page. In the last two years, Bonaire-related organizations have been mentioned prominently in at least four-dozen stories posted on the DiverWire.com site.
The recent re-design of the DiverWire.com site provided a simple way to gauge the amount of interest in Bonaire. The home page now features “tags” highlighting popular words or phrases that appear on the site. The larger the type face, the more frequently that word appears on the site.

Bonaire’s popularity and interest among the worldwide dive industry certainly means the island will continue to have a strong presence on the DiverWire.com site. DiverWire’s goal is to feature fresh content daily.
In addition to the publicity releases from the Tourism Corporation Bonaire, Divi Flamingo Beach Resort & Casino, Buddy Dive Resort, Captain Don’s Habitat, Plaza Resort and others are archived on the site. Jones encourages everyone associated with marketing and promoting a resort or dive shop to the dive industry to continue to be vigilant about sending out regular news and information.
