Cultural Activities & Holidays
Bonaire offers a mix of cultural activities including museums, art galleries, Rincon’s Market held every first Saturday of the month, and more.
In addition, many of Bonaire’s cultural activities happen in accordance with the island’s calendar of events. Holidays on Bonaire bring people ‘into the streets’ for grand celebrations, almost always accompanied by plenty of music and dancing, good food and drink and family and friends. These traditions are rooted from Bonaire’s oldest celebrations (Maskarada, Simadan, Dia di San Juan and San Pedro and the season of Bari).
Dia di Rincon, celebrated along with the Queen’s birthday, offers a prime example of cultural activity, as does Bonaire day, Carnival and the annual Sailing Regatta. Many people from Aruba and the Netherlands Antilles come to Bonaire to be with family and friends for these exciting celebrations
