Bonaire’s annual Sailing Regatta is an island tradition. Visitors and locals alike take to the street for great competition and celebration. The ‘action’ takes place at the Kas di Regatta (Regatta House) headquarters on the coast road in town. There is an official opening and closing ceremony.
Celebrating 40 years in 2007, the Annual Regatta offers a week of skilled races and festivities. Competitions include an array of sailing events, micro-boat and kayak races, and the traditional fishing boat race.
Additionally, an “All Nations” parade, swim to Klein Bonaire, and after sail happy-hours are scheduled. Each night of Regatta celebrate with local and international bands and booths selling local foods and crafts.
