The fifth annual Bonaire Dive Into Summer, a 4-month program (June 1 – September 30, 2011) features an array of activities for divers, adventurers and sun seekers. The program for Bonaire Dive Into Summer offers visitors the flexibility to enjoy their planned vacation on-island, and as an added bonus, the option to take part in special dives and clean-ups, eco-oriented activities and festivals, which practically guarantee a fun and educational experience in Bonaire.

Windsurfing has long been a popular sport on Bonaire, which is home to several of the world’s top windsurfers. The island’s trade winds provide perfect, steady conditions for flat-water sailing in beautiful Lac Bay, where shallow waters and a clear sandy bottom provide an excellent environment for beginners, too.
7th Starboard ProKids Freestyle Competition 2011, June 16-19
The 7th Starboard World Championship Freestyle Junior and Youth competition will be held from June 16 - 19 2011 in Bonaire, Dutch Caribbean. The Championship will be organised by Aquaspeed and Bonaire Windsurfers Foundation. The event will be based at Sorobon Beach.
Bonaire Dive & Eco Challenge, June 19 & June 25
The Dive & Eco Challenge at Zilvermeer in Mol (Belgium) is on the 19 June 2011. The Dive & Eco Challenge at de Beldert in Zoelen (the Netherlands), is close to Tiel on 25 June 2011. Both Dive & Eco Challenges are from 9AM to 4PM. Afterwards there will be a BBQ and a drink Go into battle with other buddy pairs in navigating, stamina and speed. The winners will win a spot in the Dive & Eco Challenge on Bonaire. There are lots of beautiful prices to win such as wetsuits, regulators and other dive prices.

Bonaire Art Day
Bonaire Art Day will be filled with cultural events. Guests can dance to the music of Bonaire and eat special local dishes. This year will be the 19th year of the Bonaire Art Day. This is a time when locals, youngsters and tourists get the chance to show their talent. Whether it’s singing, painting or dancing it is all considered Art and it is celebrated in a unique way on the island of Bonaire.

Wounded Warriors Week, August 6 - 13
During this week, severely wounded troops and their significant others will travel to the island to complete the final step in the process of obtaining their dive certification. Each year, the island opens their arms and welcomes this group and shows them not only the natural beauty and pristine waters of Bonaire, but also the warmth and friendliness of the Bonairean people and their genuine hospitality.

Taste of Bonaire is a wonderful way for visitors and locals alike to sample the foods of local restaurants and chefs, while enjoying the ambiance and culture of Bonaire. Those attending will have to opportunity to choose from local food, Surinamese, Indonesian, Chinese and continental. Taste of Bonaire is always well attended, so be sure to arrive early to try some different foods and mingle and meet with friends. The event will be held in Wilhelmina Park from 7:00 PM until late.
Lifetime Achievement Award Week, August 20 - 27
During this week, Bonaire will be hosting a special guest, renowned in the world of nature protection and sustainable development, who will participate in varying activities. There will be themed dives, book signings and oceanographic presentations for children and adults by the special guest. Furthermore, The winner of the Lifetime Achievement Award will be announced. The Lifetime achievement award is an award for people who have actively helped promote the ideas and principles of sustainable tourism.

Bonaire Flag Day (Legal holiday), September 6
This a day set aside to celebrate the flag of our island. Each year a different barrio is chosen for the event. This year's location is Nort Salina. It is a time for thanks and also a chance for revelers to dance in the streets and enjoy a taste of local food and drink. The entertainment generally includes local bands and groups from around the island. A Motorcycle event is also one of the major highlights of this day where over 400 participants with their motorcycles from around the Caribbean arrive by ship and tour of the island as part of the national flag day ceremony.
