Kaminda di Arte - Bonaire Art Tour
This fall (November) an Art Trail will start : “Kaminda di Arte”.
A total of 19 enthusiastic participants who practice different forms of art have registered,
which makes the initiative of Wil Dijkstra and Fred van den Broek a success.
It would be fantastic if this new initiative would support the product Bonaire in a positive way.
A new and attractive “do”form of experiencing art is a fact. The hospitality of the participants combined with a broad offer of art projects creates, for inhabitants as well as tourists, a fresh and different activity that takes place every third Sunday of each month.
On Bonaire a lot of people are active creating different forms of art. By this Art Trail participants are able to exhibit their art in their home or art studio and thus offer their artistic products to a bigger audience.
It will be interesting and exciting to see the different pieces on location. Paintings made with several techniques, ceramics, statues, photo’s, ornaments and other types of art will be seen and experienced. Because the artists live all over Bonaire, visitors will get an impression on the beautiful environment and nature as well as how people exist, live and work.
Thanks to the voluntary cooperation of 19 participants the Art Trail will be open to the public every 3rd Sunday of each month, starting in November 2010 up to and including June 2011 from 11 am until 5 pm. The kick-off of the “Kaminda di Arte” will take place at Mangazina di Rei in Rincon on
November 14th. This small exhibit will be festively opened by Gezaghebber Glenn Thode at 4 pm and will close at 6.30 pm. On the 3rd Sunday in November, the 21st, the Art Trail will officially take place for the first time from 11 am – 5 pm.
The following dates are:
December 19, January 16, February 20, March 20, April 17, May 15 en June 19, 2011.
June 2011 the first season will be closed with an festive evaluation after which perhaps
a new Kaminda di Arte will follow with perhaps new and even more participants.
The Kaminda di Arte posters and maps will be available at several locations
and TCB as well as other organizations will promote this initiative to a broad
audience. Present sponsors are: MCB, Girobank, A&P ; we hope others may follow.
