Bonairean history and culture is displayed in museums throughout Bonaire.
Museo di Boneiru, in Sabana near the Catholic Church, contains many artifacts from different periods throughout Bonaire’s history. Some exhibits include rocks, shells, fossils and small model homes from the past.
Museo Mangazina di Rei, in Rincon, offers a glimpse of Bonaire’s traditional living. The Museum includes the replicas of homes, limestone kilns and charcoal pits in the open-air section of the museum.
Museo Washington-Slagbaai Park at the Visitor Center provides information and examples of Bonaire’s flora and fauna. Bonaire’s history is portrayed on a timeline in comparison to other world events.
