Giving Back to Bonaire
My name is Herbert Domacassé and I am 59 years old. In December 2003, I was appointed Bonaire’s Lieutenant Governor. I am a born Bonairean, therefore, I would like to do something in return for Bonaire and make a contribution toward its future.
Walk and Talk
I love to walk. Every Wednesday afternoon I go walking with a Bonairean resident. This is part of my ‘Walk and Meet’ program. During our walk, we discuss various things about Bonaire. I also enjoy reading in my spare time.
My favorite places on Bonaire? That’s not easy to choose. I love the harbour and I also like Republiek. Sorobon is also beautiful.
Royal Treat
Bonaire’s nature attracts a lot of visitors. Yet, we’re also very proud of our hospitality and a really nice thing about Bonaire is that we always greet each other, even when just passing by. When we welcome Queen Beatrix to Bonaire, people gather throughout the Island to give the Queen a warm welcome.
