Bonaire Culinary Team

The Bonaire Culinary Team competes in the “Taste of the Caribbean” events, offered by the Caribbean Hotel Association, at the Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Conference as well as other venues.

Bonaire’s team is a Foundation that started to showcase the chefs of Bonaire.   Attending the competitions, Bonaire’s chefs and bartenders not only compete, but also explore the diverse cuisine and beverage offerings found throughout the Caribbean.  Prior to competition, the team strives for success by testing menus and skills at advertised fundraising events, enjoyed by both locals and visitors.

Bonaire won in 2016:

1. Caribbean National Team of the Year 2016: Silver
2. Caribbean Chef of the Year 2016: Bronze
3. Caribbean Pastry Chef of the Year 2016: Bronze
4. Caribbean Beef Chef of the Year 2016: Silver
5. Caribbean Bartender of the Year 2016: Bronze
6. Caribbean Junior Chef of the Year 2016: Silver
7. Caribbean Seafood Chef of the Year 2016: Silver
8. Caribbean Cheesecake Chef of the Year 2016: Bronze

1. Best Team Spirit Award
2. Team Over All go - Silver
3. Bartender: Bronze
4. JR Chef of the Year - Silver
5. Mrs. Rashindra Donge  received the Chef of the year Award. This was the first time ever the award has been won by a woman.
